Lillian O. McNames, 98, of Byron, IL, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, June 15th, 2024, at Allure of Pinecrest, Mt. Morris, IL. Lillian was born on January 19th, 1926, in Bluford, IL, to Samuel Redburn and Nancy (Carroll) Redburn.Lillian graduated from Bluford High School and then moved to Kalamazoo, Michigan, where she worked as a telephone operator. She later moved to Rockford, IL, where she met and married her husband of 65 years, Duane McNames, of Byron. Together they spent many happy years dancing to Big Bands, traveling, and raising five children. After retirement Lillian and her husband enjoyed many warm winters in Arizona where they made friendships that lasted long after the yearly trips ended. Lillian loved flowers and always tended flower gardens wherever she lived.
