Chandler, Arizona – Carol C. Frericks, 78, formerly of Stillman Valley, Illinois, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at her home in Chandler, Arizona on Thursday, August 14, 2024. She was born on December 23, 1945, in Rockford, Illinois to Hugh and Marlys (Anderson) Johnson. Carol graduated from East High School in Rockford in 1963. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Northern Illinois University, a master’s degree from Lewis University, and completed post-graduate studies at Northern Illinois University. Carol was a teacher for the Rockford School District for 2 years and Stillman Valley School District for 27 years. She married Eugene “Gene” Frericks on January 27, 1967, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Rockford. They enjoyed 57 years of marriage together and raised two children.
