Joan was born January 27, 1935 in Rochelle, IL the daughter of Merritt and Helen (Lazier) Leonard. She married Robert L. Berg July 1, 1954 in Esmond, IL. Joan was a nurse over the years, finishing out her career at Oak Crest in DeKalb, IL. Joan is survived by her husband of 70 years, Robert; two children: Gary (Kathy) Berg of Bloomington, IL and Judy Zitkus of DeKalb, IL; six grandchildren: Joe (Kelly) Zitkus of Santa Clarita, CA, Anthony (Krystle) Zitkus of Granite Bay, CA, Phillip Zitkus of Chattanooga, TN, Anji (Mark) Sturgill of Sebastian FL, Amanda Clucas and Archer Berg both of Bloomington, IL; great grandchildren: Penny Zitkus, Zachary Zuckerman, Tobias Atchison and Jeffrey Sturgill.
