Elizabeth "Susie" Ann Dean, 84, of Ashton, IL passed away Friday, March 14, 2025 at Allure of Mendota nursing home in Mendota, IL after a lengthy illness.
Susie was born on May 14, 1940 to George T. and Ila (Thelo) Wixom in Mendota, IL. She attended Mendota schools and graduated from MHS class of 1958. Susie worked for GTE in Mendota for many years and Rochelle when GTE moved there. Susie met and married Ron Dean on September 15, 1973, spending over 50 years together.
She was a member of Ashton United Methodist Church for over 50 years. Susie enjoyed reading numerous books a week. Ron always made sure she was well stocked with books. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting, making afghans for the grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Susie is survived by her son, Jeff (Teri) Spitz of Sublette, IL; three grandchildren: Cory (Julie) Spitz of Mendota, IL, Erin (fiancé, Jake) Spitz of Dixon, IL and Dallas (girlfriend, Allyssa) Spitz of Sublette, IL; five great grandchildren: Carmen, Piper, L
